Taking Life in Stride is Harvey’s memoire divided into short stories. The stories are divided into themes, and each theme section has an introduction story. There are 6 themes:
Racing
Moments
Fun on the run
Life’s Little Difficulties
People
Family
The stories can be read independently but some characters are featured in multiple stories throughout the book, like Harvey’s first dog Chachka.

Harvey Mitro is a husband and father who lives in Toronto. With a degree in Kinesiology, he has been working as a personal trainer and has guided exercise for people ranging from age 4 to 101. He has been a runner for over thirty years, has broken four-minutes for the mile, and has represented Canada internationally. His best performances were in the 80’s and 90’s when he has won some of the most competitive races in North America like the Cherry Blossom Mile.

The proceeds from the book are donated to Athletics Ontario and you can get a copy from the book website: https://takinglifeinstride.ca
If you would like to get an autographed copy, you can send an email to Harvey (his email address is also on the website). There is also an audiobook copy available if you want to listen on the run instead of reading it!
