Whenever possible we chat with the author about the book, but if not then we try to do it justice.

The Anatomy of Speed, by Bill Parisi
Anatomy of Speed is a very detailed book explaining what speed is, what you need in order to properly train for speed, and all the different components that make up speed. The book has 12 chapters:
- Chapters 1 and 2 explain in depth what speed is and why it is important.
- Chapters 3 through 10 are about the warm-up, strength, and different components of speed. These chapters have detailed explanations of the theory and also exercises to train the particular component being discussed in that chapter.
- Chapter 11 discusses recovery, and chapter 12 has sample routines and an explanation of how to structure a training session.

Bill Parisi is the founder and CEO of the Parisi speed school and of the Parisi Training System, a two-time track and field division I all American (1988 and 1989), and competed in the 1988 Track and Field Olympic trials in the javelin. He went to Finland in 1989 to train with and compete against some of the best athletes in the world. In 1992, while $50, 000 in dept, Bill founded his Speed school and traveled the US in a $500 van to give free speed sessions; this led him to later open his first speed school location, and there are now over 90 certified locations. The Parisi speed school now helps athletes from different sports with speed and also strength and conditioning. The school has produced first-line draft pics in every professional sport, and numerous Olympians.
Bill has been a co-author and contributor to several other books, and been a speaker and consultant to sports-related organizations including the NFL, USA football, Nike, and Reebok. The other books he has contributed to include: Success Patterns, Don’t “Should” on Your Kids, Fascia Training, Fascia in Sport and Movement, and Fascial Fitness.
